by Eric Shipley Visit Date:January 1, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Excellent hotel in a great location. I requested and received a top floor room in the annexe and although there is no lift this did not present a problem. The room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable and quiet. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. Good buffet style breakfast but be early as on a couple of occasions I went in late and the scrambled eggs were finished and not replenished (important for me as a vegetarian!).Overall impression very good and I would definitely stay there again and more than happy to recommend to others." |

by Baeuerle Harald Visit Date:November 27, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Hotel best situated near Night Market and old city. Furniture chinese style, not useful. Technical installation lacks maintenance. Good lunchbuffet for 140 bath - unbelievable cheap! Fair Price - Will stay again. If possible, don t book the annex (terrace)." |

by Marlene Simone Bomskov Visit Date:August 14, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Great Hotel, in the heart of Chiang Mai. Great location! Very nice staff! Nice and clean rooms. Breakfast of great variety! The one and only minus. The pool was not that exciting. But anyway. Who travels to Chiang Mai, just to swim around in a pool! :-)" |

by Paul Grumstrup Johnson Visit Date:August 1, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Our family of four stayed several nights in two hotel rooms and then one night in a terrace room so we can comment on both types of rooms.I would highly recommend the hotel rooms, rather than the terrace or residence rooms, even at the somewhat higher price. The hotel rooms are very nice. Good bed, bright and cheerful decor, great bathroom and a great breakfast each morning. The setting in the lobby is very nice and makes you feel special. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. The only negatives about these rooms are the lack of in-room internet access and the fact that we needed to book two rooms for our family of four. I wish there were more 4person rooms in Thailand. Internet access is only available in the lobby area with three computers and wireless. But then if on vacation you shouldn t be on the internet all the time anyway. The location is great being close to the old city, the night bazaar, or an easy tuk tuk ride anywhere in town.We stayed one night in a terrace room upon returning to Chiang Mai later in the week. We decided to save a bit of money and get one room plus an extra bed. If we planned to stay more than one night, I would have requested two of the hotel rooms again. The quality of the terrace rooms is far below that of the hotel rooms in all respects including the size of the bed, the bathroom, the decor, and general quality of the room and its furnishings. If you are over 5 foot 11 inches, be ready to duck to enter the bathroom. I hit my head really hard in the morning. I m 6 foot 2 inches. For the four of us we ended up with three of us in the regular bed and one child on the roll away bed. The three in one bed would have worked if the bed was like those in the hotel rooms, but it was smaller and therefore quite cramped. In summary, I would highly recommend the Maninarakorn hotel as it was a very pleasant place to stay, but book the hotel rooms." |
